About the Grassroots Grants Pilot Program

The Grassroots Grants Pilot provides financial support to community organizations and non-profits across Nova Scotia. With grants up to $20,000 available, we are enabling local initiatives that are essential to the well-being and development of our communities. Whether your project focuses on sustainability, education, cultural preservation, or any other initiative that strengthens Nova Scotia, we want to help you bring it to life.

How it works


Eligibility
  • Registered non-profits and charities based in Nova Scotia are eligible to apply.
  • Grants of up to $20,000 are available.
  • Funding will support projects that create a lasting impact on Nova Scotia communities.
Application Process
  • Apply: Submit your application to be considered for funding before November 14, 2025.
  • Grant Distribution: Successful applicants will be awarded grants to support their projects.
Timeline & Selection Process
  • Application Period: September 1, 2025 – November 14, 2025.
  • Selection Process: Applications will be reviewed by December 31, 2025, with grant winners announced and notified by January 2026.

1. Grant winners will be selected by Nova Scotia Power, in their sole discretion.

2. Grant applicants give Nova Scotia Power permission to share the applicant's name on all social media platforms in relation to this Grassroots Grants Pilot.

3. Nova Scotia power reserves the right to terminate the Grassroots Grants Pilot early and the circumstances under which they might do so.
