Join the conversation! As Nova Scotia continues to experience unprecedented building growth, it’s the perfect time to review and improve the electrical inspection process—with safety as our top priority.
Nova Scotia Power and the Department of Labour, Skills, and Immigration have come together to explore new opportunities—including risk-based electrical inspections—to ensure the process remains safe, efficient, and adaptable to the province's ongoing growth.
In the winter of 2025, we invited electrical contractors from across the province to start this important discussion and share insights and experience to help shape a process that works for everyone. To learn more about our current progress, read the latest update.
We’ve been hosting open houses in communities across Nova Scotia in May and June so you can share your input and hear the latest updates on operational improvements and new initiatives. If you couldn’t join us in-person, we are offering a virtual session on June 24th from 3-5 PM.
Ray Grant, the province’s chief electrical inspector will be participating. Have questions? Reach out to our Inspection Services here >
